Forge architecture

Portal Edits is an Atlassian Forge application using:

• Forge UI Kit for the native administrator and portal interfaces.
• Forge Bridge for frontend-to-resolver calls.
• Forge Resolver for backend validation and business logic.
• Forge KVS for project-scoped action configuration.
• Jira and JSM REST APIs through Forge’s API layer.

The application does not require a separately managed public web server for its native UI Kit modules.

Data storage

Action configuration is stored in Forge KVS using a project-specific storage key conceptually equivalent to:

project:{projectKey}:portal_actions

Stored configuration can include:

• Action titles and descriptions.
• Request-type IDs.
• Selected supported fields.
• Per-field settings.
• Comment timing.
• Participant categories.
• JQL conditions.
